Altera Digital Library Contents and Installation The Altera Digital Library contains the following information: 1. Adobe Acrobat Reader software 2. Jam Byte-Code Compiler and Jam Byte-Code files 3. Information on all Altera device families and industry-leading MAX+PLUS II software 4. Altera's newest marketing literature - the Quartus brochure and the Component Selector Guide 5. All current megafunction information, including the AMPP Catalog and detailed technical information on Altera MegaCore functions 6. Information on all Altera's space-saving packaging innovations for high-density programmable logic devices in the Packaging Solutions catalog 7. All literature on Altera in-system programmability (ISP) support 8. Altera documents translated into Japanese Altera Digital Library Installation Instructions Before You Install The Altera Digital Library requires Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0 with the acrobat Search plug-in to be installed on your hard drive. All files required to use the Altera Digital Library are provided on this CD-ROM. Before installing Acrobat Reader 3.0, read the Adobe Acrobate readme.txt file for information on installation and operating requirements. After installation, chose Reader Online Guide (Help menu) for information on how to use it. PC Installation Notes for Windows users: 1. Acrobat Reader 3.0 is compatible with Microsoft Windows version 3.1 or higher, Windows 95/98, and Windows NT 3.51 or higher. 2. Acrobat Reader 3.0 requires 8 MB of application RAM. 3. To view Japanese text, you must be running the Japanese version of Acrobat Reader 3.0 and either Windows 95-J or Windows NT 4.0-J operating system. For PC installation, follow these steps: 1. The Adobe Search plug-in allows user to search the contents of the literature stored on the Altera Digital Library CD-ROM. Documents are ranked in order based on how many times the search string appears in the document. To perform a search, chose Search Query (Tools Menu). For more information on the Search plug-in, choose Plug-In Help Usign Acrobat Search (Help Menu). 2. Bookmarks serve as a table of contents for each document. The Contents bookmark links to the opening page of the Altera Digital Library CD-ROM. 3. Thumbnail icons, which show miniature previews of each page, provide a link to pages in a document. 4. Numerous links, highlighted with green text, allow users to jump to related documentation.
